Official GymLogger support

Help from the people who build it.

Email contactnaikprajwal@gmail.com. Include “GymLogger” in the subject. Support is provided in English from India Standard Time.

For a report we can act on

Please do not email health readings, progress photos, a full workout export or other sensitive information unless it is essential and you are comfortable sharing it.

1. Identify the build

Send the GymLogger version/build, iOS or watchOS version, device model and whether the issue is on iPhone, iPad or Watch.

2. Describe the path

List the shortest steps that reproduce the issue, what you expected, what happened and whether it happens every time.

3. Add safe evidence

A redacted screenshot and the exact error text help. Remove names, notes, body measurements and Health values first.

Quick troubleshooting

Purchase or trial looks wrong

  1. Confirm the device is signed into the App Store with the expected Apple Account.
  2. Open GymLogger Settings and choose Restore Purchases.
  3. Allow a moment online for StoreKit to refresh.
  4. If the purchase is pending, cancelled or refunded, GymLogger cannot unlock it.

Reinstalling is not a new trial. Trial state is linked to the App Store account when available and anchored in the device Keychain for offline protection.

iCloud sync is delayed

  1. Confirm iCloud Drive is enabled and the device is online.
  2. Leave GymLogger open briefly on both devices.
  3. Check the sync status shown in Settings.
  4. Do not delete the app as a first troubleshooting step.

GymLogger remains usable locally if iCloud is unavailable. Health/profile data, body measurements and progress photos intentionally do not sync.

Health context is missing

  1. Open the Health app or system privacy settings and review GymLogger permissions.
  2. Confirm the relevant source has written recent data.
  3. Return to GymLogger and refresh/reopen the view.

Apple deliberately does not tell an app whether read access was denied; missing values can also mean no source data exists. Workout logging works without Health access.

Watch and phone disagree

  1. Keep both devices nearby with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi available.
  2. Open GymLogger on both devices.
  3. Allow the pending workout to reconcile before editing the same session elsewhere.

Do not discard a pending Watch workout unless the phone already contains the complete session.

Import did not match

Use an unmodified export from a supported Strong or Hevy format. Fields with no GymLogger equivalent may be omitted. Keep the original source export until you verify counts and important sets.

Before deleting data

Create the exports you need and verify they open. “Workout Backup” is not a full archive: routines, programs, profiles, measurements, goals, Health summaries and photo files are not included.

Frequently asked questions

Is GymLogger available on the App Store now?

Not yet. It is in preparation for release. Only trust a listing linked from this page after the status changes.

Does the 30-day trial automatically charge me?

No. The trial has no automatic charge and is not a subscription. Starting new workouts after it expires requires the one-time Lifetime Unlock.

Why does reinstalling not restart the trial?

The trial is intended once per App Store account, not once per installation. GymLogger uses a zero-price StoreKit marker tied to the downloading account, with a Keychain anchor as offline protection.

What is the price?

The US Lifetime Unlock is capped at $9.99. Apple displays the final localized price and taxes for each storefront when the product is live.

Do I need a GymLogger account?

No. There is no GymLogger sign-in or developer-hosted training backend. Apple Account services are used only for StoreKit and optional private iCloud features.

Where are progress photos?

The image file remains on the device where it was added. Metadata can sync with other training records, so another device may show “Not on this device.” Back up original photos separately.

Can I export everything?

No single complete archive exists in version 1.0. JSON Workout Backup contains workouts, sets and custom exercises. See the feature reference for exact scope.

Is readiness medical advice?

No. All readiness, recovery, load and related outputs are fitness estimates for context. Do not use them to diagnose, treat or decide whether pain or symptoms are safe.

How do I delete my data?

Use Settings → Data → Delete All My Data. Synced GymLogger records are deleted from the app’s private iCloud store when available. Manage Apple Health records and exported files separately. The non-identifying Keychain trial anchor remains to prevent repeated trials.

Safety: stop exercising and seek appropriate professional help for pain, faintness, breathing difficulty or other concerning symptoms. GymLogger cannot assess whether an exercise or load is safe for you.

Still stuck?

We aim to acknowledge support email within three business days. Complex defects may take longer to reproduce and resolve.
